Hagar's Inheritance

Genesis 16:

So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

And so, the slave of Sarah bore Abram a son when Abram was 86 years old. Abram was very happy and named him as Ishmael. Ishmael means "God Listens". Yes, Abram was so happy that he finally had a heir.. a heir to mention his name that he proudly named him as Ishmael.

In all this, Sarah was forgotten. She wanted her husband to be happy. To have a child that she herself could not bear. The child was indeed born. But, Sarah was no more remembered.

And then, God remembered her.
